maint light

i have a 2000 gtx 951 and every thing seams to work find but the maintenance light wont go out. i have checked every thing i know of new plugs battery and it is charging and the fusees are good. i did add some chip oil for wal mart but i dont see how that could have done any thing if any one can tell me what to check or look for plz help thanks

Is the "MAINT" on all the time or only for a little while at start up?

the light come on at start up. i know last year my starter quit working and it would come up. i have checked the the voltage every thing looks good there and i toke the power valves out and they are working and clean

So it comes on at start up and then goes out?

Yes it only comes on at start up and goes away after about 30 sec the ski runs good just have had to swim back to many times

Everything is normal then. It came on at "X" amount of hours and is just a reminder that maintenence is due. If it bothers you a dealer will have to reset it.
Not sure but I think it comes on every 50 hrs of use.
