The Pylon on my 2014 Wake Pro is getting difficult to raise and lower. Thinking that lubricant may help it move better but what type should I use don't want to gum it up.

I checked the service manual and they don’t mention applying grease to the extension tube to make it slide easier. They do use XPS synthetic on the spring ends and the two recesses of the extension tube during assembly instructions.
Maybe try cleaning the tube with alcohol wipes or solvent. Mine slides easily without grease. Like you mentioned the grease will probably attract dirt and sand and end up making a mess of someone’s swimsuit bottoms.

How about the transparent lubricant like the one we use for hair clippers and sewing machines? That would be my choice (basically light electric motor oil).
