Low RPM in water, normal RPM on land.

Hey guys :)
First time posting here and, of course with a question.
I have 2010 Wake Pro, 215 HP, has 38 hours on it. Used it last year no problem ever.
It was in storage for about 2 months, on land. It was in storage on the actual marina and when I got there I found it on the ground of its left side.
After I took it for a ride and letting the engine warm up for a few minutes I was going on fairly low RPM, then I "floored it". The engine accelerated normally and rapidly but then suddenly dropped to about 5800 RPM and was going at about 46mph. It "pushed" to about 6500 RPM a couple of times with throttle fully engaged but then stopped doing that. It never went over 5800/5900 after that and never went down below 5000 even with the throttle fully pressed.
However, when I took it out of water and tested it to go over 6000 RPM, it climbed with absolutely no problem...so I lowered it back thinking maybe it was an ECU error (if any) but again, never over 5800/5900 RPM.
This may be a dumb question but would having the jetski on its side cause that problem? The marina promised me it will put the jetski on blocks, but alas.
I tried doing a search on google but came up empty handed unfortunately. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Replace your spark plugs (3) NGK DCPR8E.
The 4TEC engine is known to foul them after it sits without being run for a few months. I say this assuming your gauge isn't giving you any warning signs.
I wouldn't advise letting the ski lay on its side but I doubt if it caused any problems.

Thanks a lot Dennis.
I will definitely change those.
There are absolutely no warning messages which appear or dashboards, and the beeps when i put the key in are also in order. Hence why I was lost in the first place.
I will get the plugs in the next few days and will definitely let you know if that worked.

Just one question...did you kill someone for putting it on the ground?

You have no idea how close I was. I was extremely pissed, especially after I specifically asked them to put it on blocks upright and they promised me.

Don't forget to unscrew and discard the little metal tips on the plugs before you install them. The coils won't fit all the way down onto the plugs if you don't.

Heya
I know I am a little late on the "update" but I replaced the plugs just today. And you were 100% right. I opened it up, one of the plugs was burned. Replaced it, launched the jetski, let it warm up and off I went. No problem (knock on wood). Thanks a lot :)

Ihave just read this problem and the way you guys solved it.It was short and sweet and should be put right up the front of why this forum is here.
I congratulate and admire you guys.
You have helped me in the same way

storage

I assume you live somewhere warmer than PA, because I have a PWC dolly and a garage you could rent... indoors, not heated, but no rain, snow, wind, etc :)
