1999 spx. Running great, threaded end on rave valve broke off. Lost power when exhaust filled hull. After I fixed rave valve surges of power then it cuts out. Hit gas it has about 60% power for a few seconds then bogs, then pulls for a few seconds and so on. The rave valve did not fall into piston only threaded part broke off. Any ideas on what happened?

Carbs just built, was running great. Lost power when rave valve broke leaking exhaust into ski. Cheep rave piston melted and without spring, rave valve banging up and down launched threaded part. I will do compression test today. But the way it takes off then hesitates and 3 seconds pull 3 seconds pull. Makes me think fuel delivery. Will pull carbs back off today as well. If only part of rave valve to break was threaded end and it shot out rave cap top, can valve make piston contact?
