Hello everybody first post.
I have a 2000 gtx di with low fuel pressure starts and goes to about 98psi then starts falling. At 80psi it stalls.I called the shop and they want 800.00+ for a new pump sounds pretty high.Thats parts only.My question is has anybody found a way to rebuild these pumps or is replacing it the only way. Thanks for any help there seems to be a lot of people here with a lot of knowledge.

Remove the fuel pump and inspect the screen on the bottom. Alot of times a dirty screen is the reason fuel pressure drops off and the pump is fine.

I am a new member, but have owned Seadoos for 15 years, and four GTX DI's for the last 3 years.

I have basically the same issue with '01 GTX DI running fine all week then revving down and dying. Won't start right away, but waiting awhile, it will start and even run WOT for a few seconds before doing the same thing. No beeps light or messages. Seems to be fuel pump.

I've heard that the DI's "eat fuel pumps". I also agree that there should be a way of rebuilding the pump, or the seals, or getting a pump replacement cheaper than the $800+ for the entire fuel pump assembly. The member "Cut'n Ride" said he could give help on rebuilding the fuel pump, but I haven't seen any posts about it. I've also seen on another forum that someone found replacement "seals" for the pump that fixed it for about $10, but can find no more information. I was directed to a pump for $285 at http://www.fuelpumpking.com/bombardier-seadoo-marine-fuel-pump.html, but have also heard they are often out of stock. I have heard that if there is more than 10% alcohol in the fuel that it will eat up seals or soft parts in the pump.

If anyone like "Cut'n Ride" knows any rebuilding advice on the fuel pump assembly, please inform us all, or point to the thread.

THANKS!

Fuel Pump

Just throwing this out there. What about useing an electric fuel pump made for a car. Not one made to go in the gas tank, an external one. You should be able to get one with about the same specifications.

I'm looking for a better fuel pump solution too. I'd be tickled to find new seals for mine if it's messed up. I've read that the pump is made by Bosch and it's the same as the one found on some Volvos. This supposedly came from a guy who works for Orbital. I've also heard that the fuel pressure needs to be about 107 psi. Let me know what you find out, please.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the replies.Has anybody fabricated a holly pump into the sadoo module? They put out 110 psi is that enough pressure.Does anybody know what the spec pressure is.

The E1067 replacement sold by Fuel King is listed at 135-160 psi. The fuel pressure regulator in the fuel/air rail regulates the pressure at 107 psi. The pump has a lot of extra pressure "capability" so that I suppose as it "ages" (accumulates hours) it can still produce the 107 psi. I wonder if the 110 psi pump could last as long. I saw somewhere that the E1067 pump was supposed to last 500 hours. However, there seem to be lots of reports of pump problems with far fewer hours.

From what I hear, the Seadoo pump (E1067) is a Bosch pump.
What does the Holley pump cost?

The holly pump is a bout 160.00 and hope to get it to work.So the di pump for 200.00 sounds real good Ill get back to you soon.

Speaking of replacing fuel pump........took our 2002 GTX DI into the shop. They said the fuel pressure is too low, should be around 105 lbs and its only 20-30. Fuel pump-$820, Filter-$24, Labor-$95/HR. Entertainment-PRICELESS!
