Good evening. I am new to PWC ownership. I have a 2003 GTI LE FI. New battery with 13.1v when I got to the river. This past weekend I ran at WOT for a few minutes I got the red flashing light and “low 12v” on the bottom of my INFO gauge. When I back off it goes away, then comes back on after a few more minutes of WOT. I stopped at a marina after about a 45 minute run to get something to drink and checked the battery with a volt meter, battery showed 12.8v. Started right up and ran hard all the way back to the ramp and the light never came back on. Seems to be an intermittent issue. Checked the battery once on the trailer at it read 12.6. Started right up to clear the exhaust. I understand how the stator works where it doesn’t charge the battery but rather maintains the charge. Is this common? Is my stator starting to fail? I appreciate any help or advice.

Could be the voltage regulator/rectifier delivering inconsistent voltage to the battery when running. They can do that when they start to go bad. Check the voltage to the battery while at idle and at 4500 rpm if it is bouncing around then it likely needs to be replaced.

Also worth checking your ground and battery cable connections and cleaning/tightening them up.

Rev the ski to 5500 RPM, your voltage at the battery should be around 13.5 to 14.5. If it's not then your rectifier is bad

Based on what I'm reading I'm thinking rectifier and I'll check it when I get home. I see there are several manufacturers out there for these things. Is one better than the other? What would you recommend?
