I have a 2005 Utopia 20s with the 250 Optimax. I find the engine/ exhaust to be quite loud at wot and even while cruising. Any thoughts on how to reduce the noise? Can you put an elbow at the exhaust pipe where it exits the hull and direct the exhaust below the water surface? Or is adding more insulation to the engine compartment the answer?

Also, I have registered top speed of 78km/hr on gps. Is that about all that I can expect?

Check this link on replacing the foam sound barrier. http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?43476-Replacing-sound-barrier&p=200803#post200803

It did quiet mine some but not that much.

My Utopia 205 with a 240hp will run at 47 GPS so I would assume your 250 running aroud 48.5 would be about right.
