I believe it is nothing more than NPT, National Pipe Thread. If so, any hardware store will have a brass plug.

after you get a new one... stop taking it out... a 2016 shouldn't be taking on water so i expect taking them out provides zero results, your hull should be bone dry.

Taking them out every time will help you find out sooner about a developing problem where external water is being leaked into the craft. Not to mention, you should be flushing the interior out every so often on fresh water and every single time if in salt water.

The best advice is to go ahead and buy a couple so you have extra on hand. They're only a couple bucks at Wallyworld.

pull the seat off after riding and check if water is present, if not leave the drain plugs in.
i never had to remove mine as it has been dry.

Maybe it's that mine is supercharged, but it's much easier to pull the plugs than it is to look for water around the inside. Whatever works though. I have a simple checklist before I leave the house and when I get to the water, so it's not an issue for me.
