I think I talked some about this issue but cant find the thread. Here is the problem. Ski just wont go up to max rpm or speed. Goes up to about 40 then slowly cuts back to about 30. At time it seems like it wants to go but never really does. Thins I've done so far.

Cleaned carbs, changed fuel lines, selector valve, filters, cleaned gas tank and entire fuel system. New wear ring, and had to change out impeller shaft. New rectifier and battery.

Ran great last year and took it out this spring and ran great until a couple weeks ago. Just lost power for some reason.

Not sure on what I should start checking and in what order now. Rectifier replaced and couple weeks ago it seemed liked it helped allot but not quite 100%.

Thanks for your help.

Bump for any bit of help here. I am going to pull the engine to install some missing engine cradle studs this weekend and would like to know where and what to check for this power problem while I have it out if it makes it easier for me. Thank You!

Compression test for starters. Did you clean those little internal carb filters? Make sure all of your connections are good and tight. Check the fuel/water separator up front, inspect the seal, and that the bowl is up snug and not cross threaded. Wiggle the two lines, look for cracks at the housing, or if they break off, you know its bad. you can also plug the fuel lines going to the carbs, remove the vent line from the fuel baffle and hook up to shop air regulated down to 3-5 psi. you will find your leak almost instantly if you do.

Another thing to check are the plugs. What do they look like? does it look very light/white? means its running lean. replace them, trim back the plug wires 1/4'' and re-install the boots.

Thanks for the reply. have done all that expect hooking up to shop air. Plugs look good. I think (guessing) it an electrical problem. Only other thing I can think of a couple of the cradle studs are gone allowing the engine to tilt. Maybe shaft out of align causing the problem. Replacing those soon anyways.
