Looking for fuel guage alternatives

I have a pair of 2007 GTI 4-TEC Seadoo's. Both are running fine, but reading the fuel guages can be very difficult, especially in bright sunlight. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives or work-arounds? I tried using a long flexible dip-stick with gasoline gauging paste but there seems to be some kind of barrier in the fuel input pipe that revents the dip-stick from going all of the way into the tank. I don't need a solution that allows real-time monitoring while out on the lake (but that would be great), just somethine to allow checking the fuel level before someone takes it out would be fine. Does anyone have any suggested solutions?

Thanks in advance.
Craig
