Anyone that can give me any advice on 2001 gtxrfi seadoo's, looking at buying 2 used ones with approx 120 hrs on each. The hours seem a little high compared to others I've looked at. Not sure of any known problems to look for. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

personal preference

i would stick with "carbed" models. Not intimidating to wrench on, along with, your not at the mercy of the "stealerships" when they decide to go into "limp" mode.

For what its worth

I have a 2001 GTX RFI lasty year. I didn't know much about ski's when i bought it and I probably paid too much but i paid 2500 for it with a dbl trailer and an 89 seadoo. i sold the 89 for 300.00. The 2001 has 320 + hrs on it. The engine actually still seems pretty good though i am having a power issue with it now. it only goes about 40mph after i tipped it and it took on water.

allegedly the guy put 1k into the jet pump before i bought it. i had to put in a new rectifier (supposedly this part goes quite frequently on these skis) but since i replaced my batteries have charged just fine while using the ski.

After talking to a few people it would seem that repairs can be expensive unless you can do them yourself and since there are more electronics in this ski it can get quite costly. I am thinking about selling mine and getting another 3-seater for the kids. I also have a 99 ultra 150.
