Hello all. I am looking at getting my first PWC. I will be starting with a used machine, but not sure what I need. I would like to be able to pull some kids on a tube, and maybe even a skier. Can someone please let me know what size of engine I should get, or anything else to look for or look out for with used machines??? Thank you.

If u wanna legally pull tubers/skiers youll need a 3 seater, wahts ur price range? That will help us to find wat a good ski for u would be

Geeze! Canada is way more expensive then the U.S! I payed $800 for my 95 spi, but anyway... I would recommend a 97 gtx.. it has the 782 cc engine, so plenty of power and perfect for towing tubers and skiers.. and should hit around 60 mph.... Look some up on craigslist in ur area!

You could pick up a great ski in that price range. Personally I wouldn't buy older than '97. The Seadoo GTX is a good choice; the 99 model has the 130hp 947 engine, the same as in my 99 XP and I top out at 60 mph and easily pull a tube (illegally though, mine is only a 2-seater). Three seaters are more stable in most cases and don't tip as easily. My kids tip me over sometimes when reboarding.

One other thing to consider is your location. Up north you will have to consider additional winterization procedures to protect it from freezing conditions. Read up on that before you choose a ski, and start looking on Ebay for a good 3/2 wetsuit since Manitoba probably has a limited riding season.
