So i found an ad on craigslist. 1998 Seadoo spx. Apparently the guy says there was a small fire in the ski on the 4th of july weekend. Some wires have melted and rubber hoses need to replaced. In the pics he sent me it has the grey 787. He said he thinks there was a backfire in the engine and somehow the ski caught fire. Damage i believe is not that bad but hard to tell in the pictures. I have a 96 gsx, is the 98 spx set up the same way as my ski? Carbs, electronics, etc? He is asking 500 w/o trailer which is honestly way too much i believe for a ski that i cant even turn on. I was thinking like 200-250 because my gsx has proven to be a lemon so far and i know how much money you can sink into a 15 year old ski without blinking an eye. I really want to get into an x-4 tho, and the color combination on the 98's and 99's spx's i think are the best looking of all of the x-4s. This one has the black hull with white upper half and yellow trim. Any pointers on this thing?

Unless it's very cheap... I don't think I would touch it. The heat from the fire can damage the fiberglass.
