Long Beep after Acceleration

I have a 2004 sea doo speedster that is in limp mode with warning beep. Boat starts and idles fine but as soon as I try to throttle up, I get a long (2 second) beep. Just had to replace the oil tank because old one split. Prior to replacing the oil tank I was getting 2 second beep every minute; now I only get the beep when increasing throttle. It has full tank of gas, half tank of oil, and brand new battery (was hoping replacing the battery would solve the alarm issue). Gauge cluster doesn’t work but only thing that would help indicate is low oil anyway. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Nathan

I have only a hunch. You might be overheating due to poor cooling, maybe a partially plugged cooling system. I once made the mistake of leaving a plug screwed onto the back of my boat and before long on the water got a panic from the overheat indicator. I recall that it was more than a two-second beep, so maybe this has nothing to doo with your problem. But maybe worth a look. The fact that you get the beep after acceleration - when more heat would be produced - is suspicious.

In the boat manual which is available on this site, it explains the difference between the beeps. I'm pretty sure overheating means you get constant short beeps. Long beep count mean something else I think

Traditionally (historically speaking)....Overheating is a long continuous beep (no mistaking that)...the beeper is on constantly until it cools down.

Install lanyard - 2 short beeps - all is OK

IF in Advanced DIAGNOSTIC MODE:

2 short beeps = MPEM cannot read key OR Mixed wires at lanyard connection
2 long beeps = wrong safety lanyard or bad connection of the DESS wires.

So, I can't really figure out what is going on with your vessel.....sorry.

Why is it in "limp mode"?
