I am curious why a lean condition in an oil injected 2 stoke causes a cylinder failure. Is it because the fuel is needed to pick up the oil
and distribute it through out the cylinder? Thanks Scott.

The Oil dissipate heat and reduce friction, ensuring smoother operation and protecting the engine from premature wear and damage. Usually but not always the engine will cut off as this starts happening but sooner or later it will cause a failure. Its kind of a wake up call to check and see what's going on, but it doesn't always happen that way.
