Hi there. Over the weekend took my 1998 challenger 1800 out with the family and noticed that my the bilge pump kept coming on. Lifted the hatch and saw a preety sizable leak. It looks like it is coming from the weedless system cable area. Is there a seal there? Or why would it be leaking there? Thanks for any help. Morgan

Was happening to me when I got boat used recently.
Do you still have the black or white cap on tight??
If cap is broken, see if cable still has a collar going around base that goes into a rubber type plug. The collar around cable prevents cable from pulling out as the cap is tightened. Thus making seal..

You'll need to see whats is missing or loose to determine fix. I can tell you it is easy to do.

If you go to the parts and look up weedless system you'll see what I'm talking about.
