please respond with any ideas I just got this boat it has been modified it has performance carbs, intake and ehaust. the problem is that the exhaust ruber couplers are melting. i just talked to the exhaust manufacture and someone else who seems to know what is wrong. both people say the problem is not enough water preasure build up in exhaust to cool. both people have a differnt idea to fix problem. here is what i desided to do. i have restricted the water flow out. just a litle more than manufacture said to. so i would insure that exhaust is positivly getting enough water preasure. i have allso incorperated a temp guage to the engine so i can be sure not to oveheat engine. thanks robin

Temp gage?....

O.K., that sounds like a good idea. Do you know what temperature your looking for? And remember, the amout of water you have going through the exhaust may not greatly change the cooling in the engine. The exhaust system is set up "tuned" and cooled by the water.
I know I've asked once but I wish you could take a couple pictures from different angles so that we can be of better help to you. If may even be worth your while to look into putting the OEM exhaust system back on to prolong the life of your engine and leave you with less headaches.
We can help you better if we see what we're working with. I know what to tell you if your using the OEM system and pretty sure I'd now how to help you if I could see what your faced with.
