Just got 99 Speedster and just took out carburetor

I'm here sitting listening radio looking at what I just bought for $2800 :hurray:
PO said Left carb needed rebuilding. airbox/throttle cable was off already..
Have two of the phillips on other side of filter that is a little tough in soaking in PB. Need to find rebuild kit fast..can some give give the spec for the low and high speed adjustment?

The threads are awesome. I would suggest anyone search for any and all info of these boats b/c there are endless threads to catch up on.

I wouldn't of be en able to do what I did w/o this fourms help.

edit:I noticed I took off manifold?that holds carb to block as one oops
that bottom bolt was a bitch lol

So now on to the questions.

1.Could I reuse pop spring? SBT has one but only say it includes 20lb spring approx?? Don't get the whole pop thing
2. I know w/o load I cant test for cavitation but w/o having experience like sea trial(other thread) can I check for it somehow??
3.Trim around shiffter is cracked? where can I source from? figure I'd follow sponsor link but if someone has one
4. speakers? water proof right lol
5. cleaning engine bay whats safe whats not.
6. Hydo-tuff anyone
7. Is there a picture gallery. Want to polish gel coat and then vinyl wrap w/??????????????????

Congrats on the purchase. Hope it runs good since you didnt get to sea trial it. Makes me kinda nerous for ya.

That shifter plate is prety common, should be able to find one on here from someone or on ebay. You can spray a degreaser in the engine bay and just rinse it out. I use the purple stuff castrol makes. Super clean i think is what it is called. I spray it in...let it soak for 10 minutes then just rinse it out. I dont spray anything that looks electrical.

Hydroturf is the bomb. Best mod money can you spend. I highly suggest you get it.

Yeah that was concern but for the money I'll still come out ahead if i need to throw 2 new motors :blush:
