Hi guys.
I am new to the jet ski world. I just got a 1995 Sea-Doo SP. After trying it a few times I decided to change the jet pump oil, just because I am not sure when the previous owner did it. The manual says to torque the 3 cone bolts to 62 in lbs. It just seemed to much for those 5mm bolts. Also my cone is plastic. I torqued them to 36 in lbs. and was crossing my fingers that the bolts did not snap or the aluminum jet pump housing did not strip.
I am a machinist and can usually judge things like this. I am guessing most people just tighten these with out a torque wrench.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you
Bill
