Is this a normal amount of play in the pistons?

Is this too much play in the pistons. And if it is would new piston rings do the job or should I look at other options?

2003 sea doo gti 720. Has sat for 5 years unused.

Rear piston

Front piston

Better to measure the bore size of the cylinders but that won't tell all.. The skirt is the largest size on the piston and the top is a bit smaller so you'd have some play. Rocking the pistons back and forth sometimes gives the perception that clearance is excessive. Did you do a compression check prior to removing the head? Good Luck.

I did not unfortunately as the ski wasn't runnin. Just purchased a new gasket set so will put it back together and do a compression test. Cheers
