Ok.. So this is a 2 part question..

First.. Is the brake feature that some of the Seadoo's come with really worthe it?? Having used it is it something that you would never let go??

Second.. What is your opinion on purchasing a brand new, 3 model year old pwc?? I have been looking at pwc's all over the place.. locally, net, etc.. For the most part I have found that I can get a brand new 2011 GTS for around 7000 or a 2010 GTI for 8000.. But doing some research (and hopes of negotiating further) I think I can get a 2008 RXT-X for around 8000.. I know new they were like 13,500 or so.. Just wondering what you guys htink

I have a 2011 GTI SE 130 which has the iBR and I love it. The brake is fun to play with but the real reason I love it is for the neutral and reverse functionality around the dock without taking your hands off the handlebars.

The brake is a great feature. I ride lakes alot and often you will come across rogue wakes. If I have riders on with me, I don't want to hit the wake at high speed and the brake slows you down fast. Also you have Forward, Nuetral, and Reverse all at your fingertips without taking hands off handlebars.

I wouldn't necessarily say that I must have the brake, as I have an older ski without one and love riding it too.

Just so that you are aware, the 2008 RXT-X's had issues with the intake tunnel cracking. Not every ski would develop cracks, but lots of them did.

It's a shame they don't make retro-fit kits for the previous models on things like this. It would be really nice to have reverse activated from the handlebar..... but oh well. :-(
