I think it turned out pretty nice, just thought I would share. Do you guys that have them installed on your boats travel with the top in the vertical position (like I have it with the boot on)? It just seems like it will shake alot and snap the plastic mounts off. My Dad came up with an idea of using the other 2 straps that came with the top and mount the hooks in the middle just behind the seats. That way it will provide some stability from swaying left and right. What do you guys think? I will be installing my new hydroturf pads tomorrow!boat3.jpgboat1.jpgboat2.jpg

Thanks.

looks good and with the HT it will look even better :)

I would just put it up while on the water. I think at highway speeds it will cause some damage. But just better to safe than sorry.....

Nice job on the BT.

I have a 1997 Speedster Twin Rotax and it looks almost identical to your boat. Tell us what you got! Anyway, I would not travel on the highway, or any road really, with the Bimini up. Disaster is just waiting to happen. However, I do have it up at any speed on the water and it does just fine. Very stable. I am of course assuming that your anchor points are similar to mine.

About the hydroturf install, did you take off the original mats yourself? What did you use to remove the adhesive? My mats are in fine shape, so all I really need to do is clean off the old glue before reinstalling my original mats. Any advice is appreciated.

When I peeled the hatch turf the glue kinda came off thin plastic film. Whatever was left wd-40 and plastic scrapper.
I also cleaned surface with rubbing alcohol before applying HT on mine.

Thanks for the advice guys. My boat is a 96 Speedster with Twin Rotax. I just picked it up a couple of weeks ago and I've been cleaning it everynight after work to make it look as new as possible. After washing it, I used Liquid Claybar and then a nice coat of turtle wax. The seats are in excellent condition for being original, no fading or rips.

The only original mat that I had to remove was on the engine hatch. I used goo gone and alot of elbow grease but it came off. Just have alot of old rags available since the adhesive comes off in clumps and that stuff sticks to everything.

Hey Occ, there are a few options if you want a bimini. You can buy a universal fit one on ebay for like $160 or you can buy the oem one for your boat for $380. The cheapest oem bimini is through jmcamper, they are a sea too dealer in maine. Or you can have a local shop fab one up by the are usually more expensive.

I originally went the ebay route. It actually looked good and function wise it was nice. But it wouldn't fit under the cover. So i swapped it out to the OEM bimini.

Looks like the member in this thread used one of the universal types. I had a thread a while back and DRHonda had some good pics of his boat that is more similar to yours. Check it out.
