I sealed the crankcase after replacing oil seals, crankshaft, and rotary gear. Then I started the process of attaching the ignition housing to the crankcase following the specs in a crisscross fashion. I never came close to the 80 lbf*in when one of the M6x25 bolts wrung off. Thinking that it might be a case of weak bolts I picked up all new SS bolts. Shop manual also recommends lubricant under the head of each bolt to help with the torque ( which I didn't do...)
Has anyone had this happen and if so..any recommendations before I try this again? For such small bolts it seems excessive IMO.
Thanks in advance

One last mention.. I picked up a tap and die set to clean out the threads. This was done after the first broken bolt hoping that any salt crud and old loctite would be cleaned out.

I did not <sheepish look/> which explains why it snapped off. Googled it and divide the inch lbs by the foot lb gives you close to 7 lbs
OK that was my dumb question for the day :)
Thanks again

lbf*IN = pounds of force inches. lbf*in is a odd way of saying it to me but got to watch the fine print on torque spec pages.
