Injection Oil Question

So, I have been running XPS synthetic in my 95 SP by watching for small discounts and quite honestly not riding it much(maybe used a gallon a year, if that). But now that I’ve got all the issues worked out, I plan to ride it more and with the price of the oil continuing to increase, I’m starting to second guess my choice in the synthetic oil.
I know when you switch oils, you are suppose to drain, swap the filter etc. Does this still apply with oils of the same brand? Or when the tank goes low, could I refill with XPS mineral oil and be fine?

Thanks in advance

You can mix XPS Mineral and synthetic and don't have to change a thing but I would at least wait until the tank is low.
Do not mix two different brands.

Another quick question.

Does anybody know what color the Seadoo mineral oil is? Is it red like the synthetic, or is it possible that Seadoo changed oil colors at some point?

I ask as I just got a 96 GTI and the oil in it is a goldish brown color.

The mineral I have seen is golden brown. It’s been about 4 years since I bought it though.
Awesome, I’ll roll with it then. Previous owner told me he had been using leftover Seadoo oil that he had for several years but just recently topped it off so he didn’t have the bottle.

Do you happen to have a suggestion on getting a stuck air bubble out of the oil filter? For the life of me I can’t get rid of it. It looks like all the oil lines are full, no air, but the filter still has one.

Yes I have had that same issue.
1. Put a bunch of paper towels in the hull all around the oil filter.
2. Remove the top hose from the oil filter and immediately reconnect it.
3. Install a new zip tie.

Not sure why that air bubble won’t leave but drives me crazy too.

Thanks, will give that a shot tomorrow. Dumped a ton of oil already so what's a little more! At least the outside is clean.

Still no luck with the oil filter bubble.
Bought the filter locally and upon further inspection it’s a WSM filter rather than oem. Didn’t figure that would cause an issue…but could it be why I can’t get that air bubble out?

Shouldn’t be an issue.

If it’s just at the very top it should still be fine.

Just verify the flow arrow is in the correct direction.

The odd part about the WSM filter is they are opposite of the OEM, the “cap end” I guess you’d call it is towards the engine rather than the oil tank. Thought I put it in backwards at first until I confirmed with the arrow that I put it correctly.
I have another filter laying around that I’m gonna put in and see. I’m flipping this GTI, likely to a friend, so don’t want a call with any issues down the road.

Okay, FINALLY got it.
Only way to do it was to clamp off the lower line about half way down, remove it from the filter, manually bleed the filter by lifting it up and down and flicking it, then once the air was out let it flow into the bottom line until the bottom line was overflowing and then shove it back on and quickly open the bleed screw.
Now that there is a quart of oil in the bottom of a ski that was super clean…it’s FINALLY ready for me to bleed the small lines.
