Hello
I have a 99 GSXltd that when I hit the start button the info center resets by blinking all indicators on, but the fuel indicator does not light up. This baffle has the f1 fuse repair and a new float. It was working 2 weeks ago. I need to check the connection with an ohm meter.

Any suggestions?

I did some tests. I checked the baffle and I'm getting erratic number on the ohms. I was thinking that this would not affect the initial startup of the info center. So to prove it, I disconnected the baffle and hit the start button, still no indication. I starting to think it was the info center and was going to see if I can franken build one from multiple IC I have. So to prove that it wasn't the baffle, I had a set of alligator clips with my ohm meter, so I jumpered the baffle leads to the mpem and to my amazement the IC fuel indicator lit up full. The reason I didnt go with the reading from my ohm meter on the baffle, is that its cheap and sketchy. I did repair the baffle and have a new float in it. I will order a replacement baffle...maybe the F1 fix failed i will pull the check it.

F1 fuse repair failed. I used silver solder because thats all I had and it oxidized and lost a good connection. It fell off as I touched it. I had some 2500 grit sandpaper and some spit and cleaned it up where I will resolder.
this pic was measured if the tank was empty. Also I verified that the rest of the baffle registered at different levels.

I checked the float and did not see any air bubbles in a bowl of hot water. A technique that works good for brass floats. I think that I hear some fluid in the float so I will replace it.

I have spare baffles that I just plug in. It is a big help to have that. Just takes some diligence and a keen eye. :) Good job !!!

I had issues with an info center on the 1998 GTX Limited. I found the Red/blue wire was faulty. Had it all fixed up. I think when I was checking I touched another wire with 12 volts. INFO is lighting up but locked up. I must have blown a diode. I had to use another info center. Chapped mah azz cuz I had it done. Live and learn. :)

Speedo is now kick mah azz. I sent a email to Candoo.
