i am going to asume the only way to increase the wake on a 1996 seadoo speedster is to load it up with a lot of people? or weight? want larger wake for wakeboarding. i will post more picts as i now have all new decals and wake tower.

Its a jet boat buddy. It will never be a wake-boat no matter how much weight you put in it. The hulls are completely different.

All you need is the decals ;) ^

I would have to disagree with the bit about jetboats not designed to make wake. Seadoo is making good money on selling "wake eddition" jetboats to this day. A better way to phrase it would be "your" jetboat was not designed to make wake. Your maximum capacity is going to determine just how much wake you can make on plane. Since the 13' models were designed to be intermediate, fun, and ecinomical, there was no reason to design the hull to carry 500-1000lbs of ballast bags.

You can find universal tow towers that will fit these boats and look good. I watched a 96 speedster sell on ebay, may of this year, with nothing more than hydroturf, a wrap and a tower, for over 6,300 dollars. I'm not saying your boat will increase in value, just that it did look good, and good enough to sell for high dollar.

Anyone doubting the wake of a jetboat should be so brave to climb behind a glastron cvx-21. I read that bit and had horrible childhood flashbacks of eating 460ci powered berkly. :o

Very nice my friend, love the work! I caught about 2' this past weekend on our kneeboard. My wife had me hung out at about 30 and i cut back in. Thats all this thirtie something needed

I agree, the decals would be a big help with the overall look. Bummer that your boat would not match your daughters bike anymore though!

also would a larger boat like the challenger 1800 have a larger wake? i might be looking at getting one of these and getting rid of my speedster, it also would have the larger engines and more seating

Yep... love the yellow camp too. I think I'm going to get it for my XP.

All you can do is put a fat-sack on the rear step... but you may drag it down to the point where you can't pull the wake board.

For those brave enough. http://www.wakemakers.com/ These guys have a "try before you buy" program.

Re-purposing is one of my favorite subjects, and the fact that wake boards have outsold skis 7-1 in the past 6 years is a sign that it needs to be figured out.

I would say the 13' boats are out of the question, they just can't safely take the load and a spotter. Even if you ran a strap around the tie-downs and through the clam shell, the little boats would be hard pressed to pull someone out of the water and plane. Can you imagine the porpoising?

The 16'+ boats are the way to go for attempting big wake. For the rednecks reading along, you could probably make a ballast bag from a tractor inner tube. I would try positioning it in the floor or back seats. For the hill billies like myself, I'd grab my big buddies and have them sit in the back. Once you figure out how much weight you need, everyone lines up in front of the scale. Buy a ballast bag that matches the weight. :p

My 1800 has a pretty large wake. I never been on anything else to be able to compare. My brother wake boards and they are big enough for him.
