Hi all,

I have a 2003 GTX 4-tec PWC and we like to pull tubes with it. I bought the PWC used about 4 years ago and it always seemed like it never planed out right.

I need more power on take off and also some way to make it plane out better. Even when I have riders on back it seems the nose is too high out of water.

thanks for any suggestions or help!

Check to see if the previous owner installed a wedge between the pump and nozzle.

you need to look at the first set of 4 bolts,
if it has a wedge it will be a little thicker at the bottom,
its a tapered wedge that angles the pump to lift the front up
to cut down on drag,
its sapose to work better on 3 seaters then the 2s
my ski is faster without so i took it off.

Fire, riders on back will always have the effect of causing the bow to be higher in the water, you have more weight at the stern after all do the math. Check planing performance with only 1 person (driver) on board.

It may have an aftermarket wedge added to the pump which will also change the hull's attitude when under power, it might not be desirable if you're normally cruising with additional passengers on back. The wedge goes between the steering nozzle and the pump itself, it'll look like a seperate piece of metal wedge shaped (ie. narrow on top, thicker on the bottom... angling the nozzle upwards). You can remove it and go back with shorter bolts on the bottom of the nozzle to see if that's your problem or not.

I presume your model doesn't have VTS power trim system?
