Ok I'm going to do my first Impeller swap here soon. But before I get into it, I just wanted to get any tip/tricks on the swap out. I'm getting a skat trak 14.5/22.5. Just put a new wear ring in a month ago, so that should be fine. Wear ring was done by dealer, so I didn't take out the impeller then!

I know to be careful about the o-ring when re-sealing the impeller cap.

What oil, (is it a 75weight) that goes in the impeller

And I'm also gonna tackle the pump shoe. Saw many posts and threads about removing it, so I think I'm ok with that, it's putting it back on that's worries me a little more. What RTV do most use? and do i just put a ton of it on and wipe off the extra?

Thanks much in advance for the info!!

The oil is GL-5 75w90 synthetic gear lube.

Other than that... sounds like you have it right.

One thing... as you tighten the impeller... make sure things are still spinning before you torque it down. There is a washer that can bind the bearing. If you keep it all straight in a vice... it probably won't happen.
