I am looking for an impeller and wear ring for my 07 GTX 155. Any ideas on an impeller and is a stainless wear ring better and where do i get one the old ring is worn.

This is my first Seadoo and I ride it in the ocean sometimes and have had something stuck in it before. I was suprised that they wear like that. I might put a different impeller on it when I do the job. Any ideas?

If you go with a SS ring youll be replacing the impeller. wear ring are there for a reason. Stick with the plastic one and buy it from seadoo there fairly cheap. Ive heard that sbt ones sometimes dont fit right. I will never buy anything that is made by sbt, in my opinion they make cheap crap.

Stainless wear rings are a huge improvement over the stock ones. SeaDoo is the only manufacturer that uses non stainless ones. Being a full time PWC tech, I work on SeaDoo, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Polaris PWC's daily. Generally, when rocks go through the SeaDoo pump, you have to repair the impeller and replace the wear ring. On a Kawasaki, Yamaha, Polaris, Tigershark etc. you only have to repair the impeller. My machinist does an incredible job at repairing impellers. He makes them look like brand new.
nvmopar, if you want, I can PM you my phone number. I do mobile PWC repairs and I have several customers in West Vancouver and North Vancouver.

How are they a huge improvement over the stock ones? They will wear out the impeller just from everyday use, pluse if you get rocks or something stuck in there something needs to give. So in stead of replacing just a $50 wear ring youll need to refurp/replace impeller pluse replace the SS ring if it gets damaged Oh and have fun getting the SS ring out of the pump they can be a PITA to remove pluse you run the risk of damage to the drive shaft and motor also when running an SS. I know people running over 300hp with plastic rings and no problems and most people that i know who have used ss ring regret it and have switched back.

I failed to mention to replace the front motor mount with a solid mount to eliminate impeller wear. Also, when a rock goes through a Kawasaki or Yamaha pump, it only damages the impeller. When a rock goes through a SeaDoo pump, it not only damages the impeller, it may also damage the wear ring. When sand goes through, it will damage a SeaDoo wear ring and not a stainless one. Actually to tell the truth, the weak SeaDoo wear rings provide me with a lot of extra income as when rocks damage them, I not only get an impeller repair, I also get to sell and install a new wear ring.
