After having my supercharger replaced by a dealer, my 2004 Sea Doo GTX 4-Tech was idoling poorly.
I ordered a new idle by-pass valve and installed it. Immediately I was getting a check engine light blinking. If I pulled the laynard off and put it back on and restarted it, the check engine light stayed off. But when I stopped and restarted it, the check engine light came back on.
It now runs great, but does seem to idle a little high (2500 rpms vs. 2000 rpms).
I checked to see what error code came on...it was P--0505...which seems to relate to the idle by-pass I just installed (i ordered the idle by-pass valve new).
Any idea why the installation of the idle by-pass would have caused the check engine light/P--0505 error?
Any idea how I can reset or fix this problem myself? If everything else is normal, is it safe to run the Sea Doo even with a check engine light?
