IBR quit working when running however if I kill the engine and restart without touching the throttle IBR works fine unless I touch the throttle. The minute I touch the throttle it will no longer work. Dealer wants to change out the IBR actuator but I do not believe that is the issue is there some control mechanism between the IBR actuator and the throttle?

Thanks
Rich

There is a IBR lever sensor which is part of the throttle. It sends signals to the IBR actuator thru the can bus system. The system is self monitoring so when it detects something wrong it sends a fault to the warning system and disables the IBR. The fault can be read by the dealer BUDS software which recommends a maintenance procedure to fix the problem. In your case it was probably replace the IBR actuator.

Dealer hooked up to computer and did autocalibration with buds and lbr moves very smooth and flawlessly It successfully passes tests. But the lbr button with Buds to go up or down does not work according to Buds errors are B2200 C0043 C0042 C2115 C2329 Does this look like the LBR actuator? My problem is that it works unless you press the throttle then it no longer works unless you restart the machine

Thanks in advance for any guidence

When you press the throttle the lever sensor sends a position report thru the can bus to the actuator and the fault system is detecting a fault and disabling the actuator. When you restart the ski you are clearing the fault but as soon as you press the lever the faults reoccur. C0043, C0042,C2115 are all IBR system faults. C2115 is specific to the actuator so the tech thinks it is a actuator issue.

I’m having a similar issue with my 2018 GTI 155 limited. The ibr stops working when the jetski is put into forward. Shut it off and start it back up, it will go forward for about a second and then go to neutral, reverse will work at that point. Once it’s put into forward, there’s a long beeeeep and it will not go back into neutral or reverse. I only have codes C00042 and C00043 though. The dealer said ibr actuator needs to be replaced. Tried a new battery, same issue. Think this could also be the throttle level sensor?

Pretty generic IBR codes including possible problems with the wiring, connections, lever sensor, actuator and everything in between. The actuator is the most common problem but also the most expensive.

I am doing that now and that unit is $1099 plus shipping. Ouch

I found a video of a guy taking out the actuator and taking the actuator apart and replacing just the motor in the assembly and it fixed it. It’s $20 for the motor. Can’t hurt to try it out before going and spending $1099 lol.

Can you wake the ski up by pressing the start button, then put the lanyard on the DESS post. Can you scroll through the menus to get to the IBR override selection? Select override on, then use the up/down selector on the right hand side of the handle bars the normally move the vts up and down. It should move the IBR bucket up and down. If it does, it is probably not the IBR actuator module. I would download the wiring diagram and start tracing from the IBR Actuator Lever through the harness coming from the steering and going back to the IBR actuator itself for corroded pins or bad connections. There is a procedure in the service manual on what the readings should be.
