I can't find the "hose fitting" to hook up a garden hose everybody talks about ( 97 SPX 787 ). I thought the guy I got it from showed me where it was when I traded him for it but I've spent a good 45 minutes in garage trying to find it with no luck. All I see is some kind of "t" fitting with a little red cap that a garden hose wouldn't fit.
I'm also trying to figure out if there is an actual water drain to drain out water before putting in antifreeze in for the winter.
I'm not too lazy to use the search function ( sifting through old threads for over an hour now ), I just haven't happened across the right one.

Please help a newbie so I can get some fuel stabilizer to carbs and get prepped for the winter.

Haha.. OK, well your missing the hose that attaches to the garden hose to the little T fitting with the red cap. I just pull the line off and stuff it in the hose or get someone to hold it.

There is an engine drain hose that runs out from under the engine and goes over into the exhaust, RIGHT at the outlet. That would be the only drain hose. And it should drain every time your machine shuts off unless its plugged.

The antifreeze doesnt need to STAY in there for the winter, I just flush it through and pour a little in the waterbox for fun.

Thanks for the response!
So if I remove the "T" fitting and replace with a garden hose fitting I'm good? It looks like that hose goes straight out the back and dumps out side the haul from the motor so a garden hose connected at that "T" fitting would get some in the motor and some would dump right back out on the ground? Is that the hose some people are talking about pinching? If so, this is starting to make sense!

You gotta plug the other end of that line with the T so the water goes through the engine and doesnt dump out. Theres also the engine drain hose you will need to pinch off as well. Once done I fill with coolant, release clamps and the fog process begins.

Always fog after the antifreeze when winterizing. Itll be fine to run with no hose for the fog process as that only takes 15-30 seconds.

Thanks for steppin up and giving me a hand! Since you have the exact same year and model you'll probably be hearing more from me if you don't mind. Have a good evening.:D

I dont have all the answers, but Ill help to the best I can. Im kinda used to workin on our models, and earlier... its the newer ones that get confusing. And carbs, their a PITA as well.

Donno if I said already or not but, you probably already know good idea to pull the battery out.
