I can not pull the Intake grill lever out

Hello,

I have a seasonal place that we rent. I park my jetboat in a marina which is heavily populated by weeks. (Grrr) I noticed when I got out to the lake that I such up some of those nasty weeds. Boat cavitates. It usually works itself out after I pull the lever and drops the intake grill down. However yesterday I noticed that the lever is stuck and I can not pull it out. Worked out weeds without the grill dropping.

Does anyone have a suggestion for me as to how we can fix this?? Is the cable bent?? Clueless as to what to do, and hate to take it in and pay an arm and a leg to fix it.

Any suggestions or comment would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Monks

Probably just rusted, and stuck from lack of maintenance. BUT... we have no idea on what is actually wrong since we can't see it. Get your head under there, and start disconnecting parts until you find out what is stuck.

This forum can help with advice, you buy have to do the troubleshooting.

Can not get my 97 speedester to back up at all any help from the group.
I have adjusted the cables and still nothing.

Pardon my possible insult to your intelligence but the lever has to be turned to unlock it before you pull.
