yep...wife still "DENYING" me, since sell'n the Sportster...:banghead:

Re-check the clamps on EVERYTHING, replace the grey pulse line (noticed, bobody did this/dealer)...sounds like rectifiers though (preying ssmiley face)

Lol, now thats funny. Yeah, i have given it a pretty thorough once over before, but it wouldnt hurt to do it again. The one good thing i've got going for me is the fact that the previous owner was pretty maticulous and kept it nice and clean, and kept doc's on all work/service that was done to it.

Hey, will it work if you just disconnect the entire wire harness from the rectifier? I did that and no dice. Or do I have to disconnect the red wire only. I didnt wanna hve to put a splice in it if its not the problem.

Nope not the rectifiers . The problem has since settled back into the left motor only. This is the weirdest thing i have seen in my life. Switched the fuel pumps and it stays on the left side so i think its safe to assume that they are ok. Pulled the baffle, inspected all that. Pulled the lines from the baffle, all the way to the fuel pumps...no problems. Today we will be pulling everything (and I mean everything) from the fuel pump on back. Probably gonna re do the carbs again, since i wasnt there to witness what all my buddy/co-owner and his people did. At that point i will have effectivley ruled out ALL fuel related parts that can fail. If by chance it doesnt get better, i guess i have to start thinking either electrical (which i have done rectifiers, plug wires, connections, etc) or God forbid ...gulp...compression, right? I mean, hell, theres nothing else that can cause this kinda stuff right?

WOO HOOO!!! GOT IT! Ok, not sure the actual root of all evil but we did a bunch of stuff to the fuel system and she's back to kicking ass on the water again. Pulled apart the carb again and the other guys had missed the little internal filter and that thing was a friggin mess! Cleaned that up, replaced an older looking fuel line, re-cleaned the fuel filters (for like the 100th time), and cleaned out the air intake manifold and filters with ethyr and she is running like a dream, thanks a ton Carl and Timmy!
