.. for a 1997 Sea Doo Challenger 1800.
After a major clean, and replacement of a few odds and ends..and the Install of a keelshield...
the steering assist cables are my last thing to tackle.
During my test drive..the steering felt a lil slow.. and tight.. but nothing too difficult. I chalked it up to dual engines..and just how the boat drives..
When I was cleaning the boat.. I pulled out the drivers side storage bin...
There I saw what I have now identified as the Steering Assist cables..
The adjustment screws were just dangling on the cables.. and there was a fair amount of slack in the cables. I have threaded the screws back on.. but am UNSURE on how this is adjusted. Though it cant be difficult.. I dont want tomake them TOO tight.. for fear of breaking.. and too loose.. maybe some of the sluggish feeling I am having to the steering now.
Does anyone have any tidbits.. or feed back.. on adjusting this??
thanks much.!
