I could not post this in the "How To" section so mods please move this if you feel it might be easier to find elsewhere.

The following videos show how to replace the intake and exhaust valves on a 2005 GTX S/C.

I decided to replace them instead of waiting for a possible broken exhaust valve I plan to keep this machine for a while plus we like to go for longer rides and having a failure 100 miles from home is not fun.

During storage the exhaust system is always a moist environment due to the water in the water box this means the exhaust valve stems are also in this moist environment. If the machine is not properly flushed after salt water use then this moist environment is even harsher due to the salt water left in the water box. Fogging is a very good preventative measure and should be done for extended storage times but it is not very practical to do this after every ride. The early 215hp models were most succeptible then the 185hp models then the 155 and 130hp models. BRP upgraded the valves sometime in 07 the only way to tell which valves you have is to pull the valve cover and look at the top of the valve stem above the keeper there is a number stamped into the stem the bad valves start with 72 the newer better valves start with 75.
