Took the ski out today and ran through a tank of gas

Was about a mile or maybe slightly more from the shore and ran out the reserve before I got to the boat ramp.

So how far do you average on reserve?

Just like your range before reserve will vary with lake conditions and riding style, so will it on reserve. You can try to ride easy to stretch your range on reserve but it won't last as long in rough water because of the fuel sloshing around.

Seadoosource has a fuel economy page with estimated range of the different skis listed

It's not much, for my Sportster. I measured maybe one gallon of fuel once, while replacing my fuel lines and about 15 minutes or less one time I ran low on fuel and had to switch to reserve.

I'm pretty sure you have a 9 gallon tank which is what my XP has. I can go about 40 miles beating the piss out of it and ill be switching to reserve. The last time I had to switch over to the reserve I kept it about 1/2 throttle till I got back to the ramp which was about 3 miles away. When I filled up I put 7.5 gallons in it. You should get better mileage out of your ski since mine has a 787.
