how do u hook up mpem

im replaceing my 95 gtx mpem(278000423). ive donr trued to hook it up but i hooked it up wrong. all it would do when i tired to start it was click alot. so im hoping someone here can give me the link to a diagram or tell me how to hook it up. please help

I'm pretty sure you have the older style MPEM, no multi connectors, basically the wires are color coded, just disconnect the wires and connect the new MPEM, are you sure the new MPEM functions. There is a wiring diagram in the service manual.

From what you are saying it sounds like you have a weak battery.

ive done checked the battery and its completely charged

i know the color coded one but idk how to hook it up to the soelnoid.

Does your solenoid have terminals? I thought a 95GTX the wiring harness just plugs into the base of the solenoid. If it's got terminals then you probably should download a service manual, it has a wiring diagram.

The top of the solenoid the two large terminals, one side goes to the battery the other to the starter.

yes it has termiinals. which terminal does the starter go on and which side for the battery or does it even matter which side. and the the mmpem is suppose to hook up to the solenoid i think . it has a red and a black wire that goes on the solenoid which color goes on the battery side, and which color goes on the starter.

The two large terminals on the top one goes to the battery, one to the starter, doesn't matter which one. I'm not sure about the other terminals, and I wouldn't want to give you wrong information as it could be catastrophic, I think you should download and service manual and check the wiring diagram. I'm not sure but I'm thinking someone has replaced the factory solenoid with a generic, post a picture.
