How do i know if Oil injection is working? (looked everywhere for answer)

So the story goes...blew up the last motor because the oiler cable came out of the keeper.

Bought and installed SBT long block.

Bled the oil line coming from tank to oiler by removing the bleeder screw (while motor was off).

The small hoses that go from pump to the intakes are clear and have oil in them.

So here is the million dollar question (I will write u an IOU if you answer because i don't have a million bucks)...
If I don't see any air bubbles going through the line and the line is filled with oil...how do i know if oil is flowing?

I started up the ski with the oiler held wide open but didn't see any smoke coming out the exhaust...it was in the garage and i only let it run for about 20 seconds...but since it was in an enclosed space, i was expecting the garage to fill with smoke.

I know that you guys will probably recommend going to the premix method (which i would prefer also) but there are going to be many times when other people are using the ski and that is a recipe for disaster...people have a lot of trouble figuring out the ratios for some reason.

Thanks in advance for your help guys

For extra insurance, I'd premix the gas tank. Then mark the oil tank with a piece of tape, take it out and use that tank of gas and come back to check if the oil level dropped.

ya that would work, but it would smoke like a mother,
heck if it smokes, its working :)

re: premix, i agree for the most part, if its working don't fk with it, but just so you know they have nice premix containers that are hard to screw up, at west marine, in the meantime, just leave the injector on...

but one thing i'll suggest:

take precautions with the fact that "many" people will be using this, THAT is a recipe for disaster for sure, if I have two ski's i'm willing to let somebody ride one of them, otherwise, if you don't have the same last name as me... you can't ride my ski lol

if random friends/family are going to be borrowing the ski, expect it to get scraped, banged up, neglected, rode hard, never flushed, and brought back with no gas and a wet towel in the storage container, if your cool with that... then all is well

i had one friend borrow mine and did all of the above, it was dirty, full of salt, smelled bad and the tank was empty, he asked once or twice again to borrow it and I said, nope, sorry. and yes, I took 5 minutes "nicely" to explain to him the next morning that I spent 30 minutes cleaning up the mess he left me the day before.
