I've done some searching and you guys cover most of my questions, but I figured I'd post anyway. First let me explain whats going on. Took the boat to the lake with just me in it and go to take off and it felt a little sluggish but eventually planed out and ran pretty fast. Then I met my son and his buddy at the docks and with them in the boat it would not hardly move and I noticed the engine compartments took in a large amount of water and I had both plugs in (bad scutter valve?). The engines redlined and we were traveling at wake speed literally so I backed off it and idled back to the dock and trailered it.
From searching here I'm thinking the common problems are wear ring bad, or impellar damaged, or various seals. Heres a dumb question but what is the ride shoe and where is it located, I read to check and make sure its completely sealed? Also what seals on the driveshaft should I look at replacing? Sorry for the dumb questions but I am a newb at this and simply don't know. Thanks for any help.
