I was having a severe 5000 hang up on my 97 gtx. I made a set of housings using some JB weld and machined the grooves in my existing rave valves to test if the service bulletin works (always on a budget) and the difference was night and day. The housings survived the test run so I got on ebay and found a set of OEMs and the machine has been running great since.

And when I say "machined" I really meant I used a 4 inch grinder and a thick aluminum grinding disk followed up with a bunch of polishing with a dremmel, chicken sacrifice, say the chant to summon the invisible swordsman and fired a shot into the air all in the hopes the hack job actually works.

I would suggest buying all new parts if you do the bulletin work. Do as the bulletin says and not as I do.
