Can anybody tell me how the oil level assembly for the oil reservoir on a 2000 seadoo gti works? I pulled this assembly because I am replacing the oil reservoir. When I pulled it out of the reservoir I noticed that the top of the plastic cylinder at the end of the shaft had separated from the bottom portion. Because I am not sure how this works I don't know if this needs to be sealed. Also does this plastic cylinder supposed to slide up and down the shaft depending on the oil level? I just don't know. Any comments would be appreciated.

There should be a float on a plastic tube. The float has a magnet in it, and the sensor is in the tube.

If it's busted off, or the float isn't moving... you should replace it.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, the plastic float does not move up the plastic stem, plus the cap on the float has come off. I guess I will have to replace the whole unit. Thanks again for the reply.
