I have a twin rotax boat. I was stuck on a cable hooked onto a dock. Had been drinking beer, so did what most would do, floor it. Anyway got unhooked. Bur now I floor it and it revs high but does nothing. Goes about 30 tops. Anyone know what I can do? I assume it has to do with the flaps in the back? Please someone help! Need to use boat sat & sun! Thanks! Figured this would be the place to go. by the way I am not great a fixing things!

more beer and a marker

start by knocking down 2-3 beers from your next 12 pack. Then simply just put a 5 over your 3 and that should get you through the weekend.

When you say stuck, does that mean the actual boat was hooked? Any chance the cable was near the back of the boat? Maybe around the intake or pump area? Could it or something else have gotten sucked into the pump?

Yeah thanks! I am going to drink a lot regardless. I just can't get the boat fixed this weekend I don't think. hoping it is an easy fix.

Yeah it was the back of the boat. I don't think anything got sucked in. No weeds or rope around my back end was on a wire cable that attaches to a dock. I tried to get off of it for a bit. then gave it full throttle and it got loose. But after about 30 mph it revs maxed out but won't go any faster.

If you insist on doing things the hard way... unlike my earlier suggestion... a good inspection in the morning will probably do the trick... make sure every thing moves freely in back with your controls in the front... it will probably be in the pump area as the other member suggested... good luck

So the pump is in the back by the jets? If it is the pump what do I need to look for? Something stuck in it? Can I use the thing that clears out weeds to fix it?

Sounds like something is messed up with the pump. Maybe you tore something off. Look for pictures of a jet pump setup and compare them to your boat and see if something looks different. I am at work right now and dont have a close up picture of mine or I would try to post it for ya.

your impeller is under the boat is insdie your pump. it should turn without binding on the wear ring around it. it may be easier to turn the drive shaft with the spark plugs removed from motor. or look at it from behind boat with flashlight... just look closely and take your time...

Hmm so I guess I am out of service for the weekend? I can look at the pump(I know it is in back but no idea what to look for) I will try to find my mechanic at the lake and hope he can fix it somehow

I dont think this is something you can just pop back together. You are going to need new parts. I can almost guarantee that. Something is broken and/or missing.

I had the same problem minus the beer and wire, but I found a small stick caught between the impeller and the wear ring. As I tried to accelerate the boats rpms would climb, but no momentum. If there is something stuck the boat is cavitating(sucking air) rather than water. This is why the tolerance between the impeller and the wear ring is so tight and important.
