Have been having problems with my Raves on a 98 speedster.
They keep melting. I bought new everything from gaskets, Guillotines, o rings.. everything. Brought the boat out this weekend. Made a short run and stopped to check the RAVES.(just grabbed a hold of the rave covers)The RAVES on the left motor were definately hotter than the raves on the right motor. The part that is melting is the cap that the guillotine screws into. It melts out the threads in the cap so the guillotines just stay closed. So my guess is that the guillotines themselves are getting to hot and melt the only plastic part that they touch. (the caps they screw into). Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this? I have run out of Ideas.

the raves installed correctly, along with the rave housing lining up with the "boost" hole aligned correctly and not being covered. Did you reset the lsa/hsa correctly on the carbs?

Fuel mixture gives your exausth temperature.

Lean = too hot, But i'd be surprised you'd melt the RAVE before melting a piston, if that's the cause I'd say it's your lucky day.
