Hello Everyone,
I was hoping I could get some help here. If nothing else can you answer this first question?
If I remove a spark plug (so I can see into cylinder) and try to start the jetski and give it fuel, fuel should come out of the cylinder right?
Now the longer post...
We have been having trouble with a 2003 GTX DI Seadoo. It started randomly shutting off and not starting, then after sitting for a while it was fine. It was extremely unpredictable sometimes running fine all day, others pooping out almost immediately. Eventually it died all together no longer starting. When it did start sometimes it would error out (with no code as far as I could tell) Or it would have sputtering issues. I felt it was likely a fuel pump issue, so I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump.
Since doing so I can now hold down the starter and give the seadoo gas without ever getting an error. Before if I for example held down the throttle THEN pressed the start button it would immediately beep. Now it does not. Also, when I press and hold the start button I get the satisfying chug chug chug that you would expect, and when I give it gas I get a slightly higher pitched chug chug chug but no start.
Here's a list of things I have tried:
Thanks

Here's a list of things I have tried:
- Checked all fuses - In the process I think I broke the "Reg" fuse. It does not appear burnt at all and when I pulled it out one side pin was pulled out further than the other. I need to replace still. Tried starting the ski without the fuse, no change in symptoms.
- Added two-stroke oil to the gas
- Switched to brand new spark plugs
- Fuel pressure test - I have searched for info on this but it is very hard to find. My guess is I need to purchase some device and T into the line somewhere as the pump is submerged in the gas tank. I saw someone mention "a thumb test by the fuel rail" but unfortunately they did not provide any more detail than that. If anyone can help me with a relatively simple way to check my fuel pressure (or if fuel is flowing at all) I would appreciate it.
- Air pressure test - Device problem again. I am going to stop by the auto store to see how much it costs for one of the ones you plug into the spark plug and try that, but I am not sure if I need to somehow shut off fuel first? Is it ok to just replace the spark plug with the gauge and fire up the ski? Or is there somethings else I need to do?
- Rectifier - I saw a lot of stuff online about rectifiers going bad, but it didn't seem to quite match the symptoms, AND I have no idea what it is or where it is.
Thanks
