Help with 2002 GTX!

Hi Everyone,

My 2002 4tec GTX is running fine engine wise and isn't overfilled with oil and hitting normal RPM. However, the top speed is definitely lacking. I removed the pump yesterday and found that the clearance between the impeller and wear ring is about 1/8 of an inch. Would this alone cause my problem?

What else should I service while I have the pump off?
Trying to be done by Friday so I can ride memorial weekend!

why don't you do complete overhaul on pump e.g change bearings seal etc then you know you have a good pump for an 50 hours or so. I have the same ski bought it with broken cam chain and rockers. Found the oil cooler had a pin hole allowing water into the oil so suspect thats what caused the chain and rockers to snap. my gtx and rxp blue seat is my spare one on gtx
