Help removing seats

I would like to remove the seats from my 2009 Speedster 150. I have the seat backs off. They just slide up off of aluminum brackets that are pop riveted to the back of the cockpit. There are some plastic standoffs mounted on the back of the cockpit which keep the seat backs from rubbing against the cockpit wall. There is some glue on the brackets which held the seat backs in place. I am interested in removing the seat cushions, i.e. the part you sit on. I saw a page from the shop manual, and it looks like the seat cushions are held in the same way. I have tried pulling the seats forward, and they don't budge. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

You are correct that the seats are held in place by the plastic darts. Just lift straight up you may have to pull hard but you will not break anything. when you get ready to put the seats back in place you will need to buy new darts and attach to the seat. The darts are about 3 dollars each and I have only been able to find from a sea doo dealer.

I was able to remove my seat cushions with a quick deliberate pull upwards (bottom seats) to release the seats from the wonderful plastic darts. If you are lucky this will work without breaking the darts. I then had to remove the darts still stuck in the boat creatively with pliers or some other apparatus. They can be very difficult to remove but if you can apply enough force straight up they will come out without breaking.

To reinsert I popped the free darts back into the seat cushions and carefully pushed everything back into place.

If you need new plastic darts search the forum threads for "dart" and you should find a whole bunch of posts about them and how to obtain reasonable priced replacements. Many members have found creative solutions to the dart issue, and you may be able to find something that will work at a local auto parts store.

Thank you both so much. I did not think they were darts. When I removed the back cushions, I guess I didn't bother to look for matching holes on the backs of the cushions. I just thought they they were plastic standoffs, to keep the back of the seat from rubbing against the back wall of the cockpit. I see now that there are matching holes in the seat backs, and in fact there are rubber cushions on the seat back themselves. I have seen some weed removal tools with wide blades and a deep vee notch that I think would be great in getting the darts out. I'll use a little dish soap to help.

I appreciate the help, and hope I can return the favor some day.

Wanted to know if the 2012 Speedster seat cushions (part you sit on) are installed & removed the same as the 2009 Speedster?

Thanks!
