Trying to remove the driveshaft in order to check the carbon seal and boot. I've got all clamps loosened or removed that are around the boot and at the PTO flywheel. The next step is to push the floating ring back towards the pump to reveal the C-clip to be removed. This is where I'm running into a problem. I can't get the floating ring to push back any. Can anybody provide any tips for this step because it's not budging for me.

Is the pump still in the ski? If you removed it already... put it back in. It's got to be there so the driveshaft won't move.

Next... I put a block of wood between the PTO and the stainless ring... and then use a tire spoon to push the ring. If the stainless ring hasn't been moved in a long time... the internal O-rings stick to the shaft.

Oh... a little spray oil, under the stainless ring will help it slide.

Yes the pump is still on the ski. I will have to try using the block of wood and pushing off of it. It's just hard to get any leverage on it with my hands while the ski is up on the trailer.

Yep... dam near impossible if it hasn't been moved in a while. A tire spoon is the perfect tool because it's curved.
