Hi.. All

I own a nice old Seadoo SP 1991 bought this 6 months ago from a person who barely used it...

A few weeks ago maybe a moth max I took this for a ride all went perfect... all I did is filled the oil in the tank, charged the battery and bleeded off the pump...

All perfect 2 days (cold) of nonstop fun.

Now the problem comes.

I had this sitting for a few weeks and I went to check if all is in order as I left it and noticed that nearly all of the oil in the tank was gone!! I checked and found that this was all sitting in the hull.. I spent all morning with a mirror trying to see from where this leaked but nothing.. the tank Is in perfect condition so its not a tank prop..

Any news my suspect is going to the oil seals (the Rotary disk) ones any help would be much appreciated as summer is here and I really do not want to strip this now.

Also any comments on how can I still use this for the next 3 months would be also great my idea was that when I stop it I will bloc k the 2 oil lines from the tank to the engine at least I will not waste a gallon of oil !!

The fittings int he oil tank are just held in with a rubber grommet. When they start to get hard... they leak. Replace the grommets, and you should be fine.

On each side of the lower engine case is an in/out RV bath cavity oil line. These are known to crack/break at the fitting connection, or just fall off. Thet are secured with gear clamps that can cut the hoses. The small 3/32" id oil lines from the oil injection pump to the two RV houseing cylinder spigots get brittle and break after two years, Change them out with Tygon oil line. These have been cause of many engine classic failures from no lubrication.

on my old SP the oil filter seperated over the winter and leaked all the oil out into the hull. Check that out as well.

Hi..

I did check all the oil lines no notthing I just cant find a leak nor a way to see from were this is comming...

Now what I will try is to pressure a little bit the oil tank maybe I will see the leak any suggestions please go ahead..

Also do you know an easy way to pressure check the case... or the RV.
