I am looking to buy a used PWC and have seen a Seadoo GTX 185 supercharged its a 2004 and was wondering if there was any problems with this model, reliability what to look out for when viewing. Any help is much appreciated.

I am not familiar with 185 supercharged engine. Most are 215, 255, and 260. The 2000 to early 2006 4-tech engine have hollow exhaust valves that are no longer used as they tend to fail and cause SERIOUS engine damage when they do. 04 to 07 SCs have ceramic washers and MUST be replaced.

Here is my advice:

Buy a non supercharged model.

Fewer things to go wrong and less expensive to fix when they do. I had a 2004 SC that gave me no problems during the 6 years and 100 hours I put on it, but the 2003 model I had prior, had an early engine problem (loose camshaft bolts from the factory) and my current 2010 RXT X has a shaft failure ($1,500.00) and will need a scheduled supercharger rebuild at 100 hours ($1,500.00). The SC Sea Doos are allot of fun, but they cost an arm and a leg to fix when they break and they do break.
